The Congressional Research & Development Caucus in conjunction with IEEE-USA invites you to a lunch briefing exploring the origins of the technologies we rely on. Join us for Deconstructing the Smartphone: How Federally Funded R&D Enabled the Technologies We Can’t Live Without.
Smartphones have become an indispensable part of our personal and professional lives. These transformational devices house an amazing confluence of technologies from incredible processing capability to a sensor suite that includes a microphone, camera, GPS, compass, accelerometer, and more all working together to tell your phone where it is and what it is looking at.
What do these technologies have in common? They all trace their roots to federally funded early-stage scientific research. Come learn more about the technology that makes smartphones so smart and the investments that made these innovations possible.
