R&D in Cellular Agriculture

June 27, 2018 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

One of the newest developments in agriculture is cellular agriculture – growing food starting from cell cultures rather than from whole plants or animals. Meat grown this way, known as clean meat, cultured meat, or lab-grown meat, could have implications for food safety, humane treatment of animals, and sustainability of food production.

In this Research and Development Caucus briefing, panelists will discuss the state of basic and applied research, commercialization and what is driving innovation, the challenges and benefits, and public and private investment in cellular agriculture.
